ABOUT

Commissioned by Phoenix Labs, Revenant created seven stylised cinematics for Everhaven, a multiplayer sandbox action-adventure game. My role focused on previs and character animation, particularly developing the movement style for the wide range of fantastical creatures that inhabit the world. Each cutscene told a different hero’s origin story, and I worked to define how their personalities and the creatures around them were expressed through timing, posing and physicality.

In previs, I established the staging and camera language that tied each cinematic together while still giving every sequence its own visual identity. Once those foundations were set, I moved into animation, shaping performances that balanced humour, threat, wonder and scale. Because the world featured such a diverse roster of creatures, I had to explore contrasting behaviours and motion logic, ensuring each creature felt unique yet consistent within Everhaven’s universe.

Collaborating closely with Phoenix Labs was essential to maintaining the integrity of their visual and worldbuilding principles. Even though the game has since been discontinued, contributing to such a richly imagined universe and bringing its characters and creatures to life through animation was a rewarding creative process.
